What makes our frames different?

Made to order by industry experts

Our team are our best asset. Every one of them has years of experience, high standards and amazing attention to detail.

Every day they put those skills into creating some of the best custom frames in Auckland, and they do not cut corners on their expectations for our standard frames.

We want the Artefact range to fit in alongside any of our custom frame jobs, and to last just as long so they can be used for decades, not years.

Solid Wood Frames

Solid wood is head and shoulders above their cheaper alternatives in terms of quality, and makes for a frame that is not only stronger, but will look great for years to come.

The profiles used in our range are all the same products we offer when doing custom framing in house. Custom framing is designed to last decades not years, and solid wood frames are a big part of that.

Our standard frames, if well cared for, will do the same.

Top customer service

El Framo takes great pride in their customer service, and our online store is no different.

Same team, same philosophy.

We are here to answer any of your questions or help with any issues you might be having. Just get in touch with us and we will get back to you in 1-2 business days.

Archival, not “acid free”

Whilst acid free boards may be acid neutral at the time of manufacture, they don't stay that way, often becoming acidic, turning brown and leaching that into your artwork.

Archival mats are designed to remain in an acid neutral state long after they are produced and put into your frame, protecting your art and memories for longer, and looking great whilst doing it.

We use the same mats here in our standard offering as we do in our bespoke picture frames.

Quality everywhere else

From our hanging kits, to the backing board and glass we use, we don’t cut corners.

We send every frame out with the hardware needed to get on the wall, and stay there, with brass coated steel d-rings and hooks. The exact same things we would choose ourselves when hanging frames in our own homes, and what we put on custom frames for our clients.

Backing boards that are archival and designed to protect artwork long term. common backing we see in standard frames include clay coat foam and MDF, both of which will damage the paper in the frame.

The glass we use is the same brand name picture framing glazing we use in all our custom work.
